Dave Bushell
Sculptor Artist

David Bushell a self-taught artist that has been developing his own style of sculpture in floral arrangement.  He started the art in 2001 by working on single roses progressing to table arrangements and wallscapes.  By studying and doing research in floral arrangements he discovered an internal key to make his own art corner.  Looking at work completed by other successful artist makes him aware of their honors and reasons for their success.  Today Mr. Bushell is striving to find a small tool to engrave and form himself into an artist, that tool is the opinions and assistance offered by other art professionals.

Prior to his work as a sculpture artist Mr. Bushell gained knowledge in welding and manufacturing by studying Welding Technology at MCC in Roseville, MI.  He made advancements by continuing education with the American Welding Society and American Society for Quality Control.   Having fun with lapidary and silver smithing as a hobby Mr. Bushell studied Colored Stones and Diamonds with the Gemology Institute of America.

Having merit in manufacturing Mr. Bushell worked with the Department of Defense, U.S. Army conducting research and development programs.  As a part-time contractor he worked as a bench worker repairing antique jewelry and repairs for clients.  He also made custom stands and holders for artifacts by special requests.  He is currently working with Roush Industries as a Fabricator in Tier 1 R & D Programs.

The art: The artist has been working on the art as to create floral designs with natural essence but not to copy the exact details of the floral type.  The medium is Stainless Steel because of it’s resistance to corrosion for interior design and the strict discipline requirements to form it.  The ingredient of detail, commands the viewer to touch the art.  People want to feel the art because of the veins, textures, and points that make the art live.  By working with the Level I tooling, the hues are achieved thru heat-tinting or acrylic painting techniques, which captures the audience.
